Still looking for ideas for a romantic Saint Valentine dinner? Look no further than this red themed recipe round-up to prepare a delicious and loving meal.
The only thing I know for sure that is up in the air right now is me! When this post goes live I will be on a 13 hour return flight back from Beijing. Will I have found love in China? I am not going there to look for a true one but the Lantern Festival, February 11th this year, is China’s equivalent to our Saint Valentine day. And the color red will be everywhere as the color of the New Year and Spring Festival. As red as this gorgeous and sensual recipe round-up!
What a way to start a romantic night: the Savory Truffle Mini Taco Shooter is a fun red shot with a kick and a savory chocolate truffle.
This Burnt Eggplant Salad with Green Tahini Dressing is one of my all time favorite salads, just bursting with exotic flavor.
Keep the meal light and healthy with this Fish with a citrus & vanilla gastrique radish salsa, no snoozing after dinner in case you need energy later in the evening.
One of my post popular cookie posts, these Sweetheart Maple Bacon Shortbread cookies have bacon in them, enough said right? Oh yeah and loads of butter.
This Salara, or Red Coconut Roll sweet bread is stuffed with a delicious red coconut filling. A surprising and sweet bread straight from Guyana.
Instead of spending an arm and a leg on overpriced February 14th theme menus at your favorite restaurants, why not stay home and make a romantic red meal! Cooking brings people together and cooking is a gesture of love.
I’ll be back soon, juts let me get over the jet lag and the 13 hour time zone difference for a few days. Lots of Chinese foodporn on the way!
Ohhhhhhh, so much culinary inspiration in this post!!!! I am soooo bookmarking this for later! <3
Getting ready for some love in the air soon lol? Lots of fun recipes and I have special plans for this year’s St-Val post…keep an eye out for it 😉
Oh my gaaaaa!!!!! This roundup has gotten me so hungry!! Remind me to never visit your blog before breakfast again! haha! 😉
Muahhhahahaha, my evil plan worked! West coast I presume?
Slightly late to the post but I am always up for red themed food. So many amazing dishes. I’ll start with the fish with citrus!
Ah good choice the fish, really unusual one but great combination of flavors 🙂
Valentine’s Day for me was NOT as sexy as any of these dishes. I spent it… Packing up my life. Oh well. I packed with my beautiful husband. That’s all that matters 🙂
I think that is a wonderful Valentine, a lot of work but moving in that is love!
Aww these are absolutely gorgeous Eve!! You would definitely make someone fall in love with you with these 😀
Thanks Lorraine, hopefully me and not just my food ha ha.
The shooter looks super interesting haha!
Great post 🙂
Thanks! it is pretty unique and delicious 🙂
Don’t really know where to start regarding which recipe looks the best. Maybe the shooter!
Debra I do highly recommend that one, unique and fun lol.
Great roundup whether it is Valentine or not :). Happy Valentine’s day Eve.
Thanks Amira and happy belated Valentine’s day!
Nice round up, all looks vibrant and delicious, perfect for this day!
And yes I am looking forward with the Chinese food porn
Thanks Raymund, lots of food porn coming soon, mostly street food porn (sounds raunchier)
Lovely round up, always lovely to stay in and cook a romantic meal.
So agree Caroline, but airplane food for me this time ha!
Wonderful roundup of goodies! A 13 hour flight? Yikes! Really long. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip!
Thanks John, and actually I did not find the flight as bad as I had imagined. Not easy but doable!
Hope you had an amazing trip and landed safely back home.
I did Tandy, thanks, even got an earlier connection flight saving me 3 hours! But had an 8 hour delay going 🙁
Oh Evelyne…great round-up…I love all the colors in this post and yes, the recipes are just perfect for the holiday…the mini taco shooter is so cute!
Enjoy Valentine’s Day 🙂
Thanks Juliana and happy belated Valentine’s day! Yeah I do favor those taco shooters too lol.
Have never heard that Lantern Festival is Valentine’s day…I only know that Chinese Valentine’s Day is 7th July in moon calendar.
Look forward to your Chinese foodporn series!
Maybe it is a western influence. I did see 3 heart shaped boxes in a super market there lol.
yeah as I said to someone earlier, expect mostly street food porn (sounds raunchier) lol
