As you read this post I will be sipping wine in one of the many winery estates of the Niagara Region with my travel buddy and then we will be heading to Toronto for the celebrations of New Year’s Eve at my friend’s place. Hope you are having a wonderful time as well!
Last week I was searching for a recipe to fulfill my Aunt’s order from me: a little something sweet. Well as I read my blog feed that day I came across a recipe I knew right away I had to make for this: a Dutch Christmas Log with Marzipan that I found over at Edible Mosaic, if you want the recipe click here. I’ll just tempt you with pictures. Since the recipe makes two logs I had one for 2 separate parties and they were a hit at both. And it is super easy to make.
These pictures sure are tempting! Your logs look fantastic.
Happy New Year to you and your family:) Love love love this marzipan pastry. Yum!!
Looks like your enjoying life !! I live 2 hours away from Niagara Falls. It must be freezing there now ! I go there every spring/summer. 🙂 Hope your enjoying those delicious wines.
Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR

Evelyne Happy New Year…and this is a tasty log…actually I have all the ingredients necessary for this treat…will sure make it soon. Love marzipan 🙂
Happy New Year, my friend! Those marzipan logs look absolutely amazing! I used to hate marzipan as a kid, thought it was yucky. Thank god for maturing palates..cannot get enough of the stuff now. I even love to simply eat almond paste from the can. LOL THese are a must try for me!! 🙂
I noticed these too over at Faith and immediately texted my son who was in Amsterdam over the holidays to check these out (which he did and reported back with positive feedback); the log idea is simple and stunning.
Happy New Year Eve and all the best for 2011~
Thanks all for your comments and Happy New year to you all. Yes Toronto Niagara post are coming soon!
These look incredible! Happy New Year! Hope you are having a fabulous time!
Oh, that looks so good! Maybe that’s what I can make with my marzipan, as I never got around to the stollen (not even a fake version)
😉
I hope you had a very happy new year, and all the best for 2011!
Happy sipping, and Happy New Year!!!
