It’s time to announce the next movie for Food ‘n Flix. In this monthly group a ‘host’ picks a movie of their choice that pertains to food. Everyone watches the movie and then makes a recipe which the film inspired.
And guess who is hosting this month? Yes it is yours truly. I have dug up a little retro jewel for you to enjoy. Let’s travel back in time to 1978, a dangerous time for great chefs. It seems many chefs are victims of unfortunate accidents. But who would do this? Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe?
When a famous pastry chef (Jacqueline Bisset) is invited to London to prepare a dessert for the queen, she finds herself in the middle of the culinary murder mystery. Natasha’s ex-husband Robby (George Segal), a fast food millionaire, comes to her aid and does his best to protect her. Is there a connection with an article written by culinary critic Maximillian “Max” Vandeveer (Robert Morley)? Will Natasha fall victim as well to this gourmand crime spree?
This wonderful comedy-mystery takes us on a little trip to a few grand European cities were a series of chefs find misfortune as they turn up dead in a manner reflecting their most famous dishes.
I hope many of you will decide to join me for this fun event. How can one refuse an invitation to dinner and a movie?
