The heavenly shop of confections and sweets, known as La Cure Gourmande, is celebrating the 1st anniversary of its Montreal location!

La Cure Gourmande is known for its savoury and sweet artisanal biscuits, but you will also find here traditional Berlandises (sweets made with fruit pulp), Choupettes (lollipops), chocolates, caramels, calissons, nougat flavoured with strawberry paste or candied orange peel, and chocolate olives (chocolate-covered roasted almonds), madeleines and cakes.

The Chocolate Academy Montreal Turns One

It seems like it was just a few weeks ago that I attended the grand opening of the Montreal head quarter of The Chocolate Academy ™. But a year has gone by already and The Chocolate Academy™ has become the ultimate place to learn everything about chocolate.

Peanut Butter Fudge and Ganache Coffins, plus Salt Dough Pumpkins

Are you afraid or in love with Halloween? This year Halloween scared me into making a cemetery scene with Peanut Butter Fudge and Ganache coffins, and a few decorative Salt Dough Pumpkins.

It’s Food ‘n Flix time again, the Halloween edition! In this monthly group a host picks a movie of their choice that pertains to food. Everyone watches the movie and then makes a recipe which the film inspired. It can be any recipe you want. This month’s pick is hosted by Elizabeth at The Lawyer’s Cookbook, who she terrified us into watching the movie Hocus Pocus! I was scared I hid in my Peanut Butter Fudge and Ganache Coffins.

Chocolate & Tea Pairing

Do yourself a favor and give in to one of the latest trends: Chocolate & Tea Pairing. You will be blown away by the wonderful flavor combinations you may create.

I have been back from my vacation for a week now already and I am having the hardest time ever getting back to real life and routine, including blogging. But worry not I am getting back into the swing of it and I will soon bring you a slew of new posts; from great new recipes, the continuation of my broth series, and of course a post about my South and Central American cruise. In the mean time I would like to share with you my newest experiment of mixing teas and chocolate.

Homemade Marshmallow: Hibiscus and Chocolate Swirl

This amazing Hibiscus and Chocolate Swirl Homemade Marshmallow recipe is so easy to make and it will blow your mind compared to the grocery store stuff.

You know how sometimes you prepare a recipe and it is so good you promise yourself to make it again soon? Well I am ashamed to say I made my first homemade marshmallows almost four years ago and swore I would make again in the near future. Granted four years earlier I may not have come up with an out-of-this world flavor combination. Plus this was the perfect recipe to try out my brand new Hamilton Beach 6 Speed Stand Mixer!

Sweet Matcha mini donuts with chocolate

These Sweet Matcha mini donuts with chocolate glaze pack a lot of lovely matcha tea flavor in a small guilt free format.

Matcha is green tea from the Camellia sinensis, with the entire leaf transformed into a very fine powder. Unlike other teas derived from Camellia sinensis, matcha has not been fermented. This is not its only particularity, as true matcha is derived from tea leaves grown in the shade so that the leaves achieve a dark green color, which gives matcha its magnificent amino acids.

A Cake Reconstruction

I am sure most bloggers want their first real post of the new year to be sublime, an impressive display, a creation to evoke jealousy in other food blogger (said jokingly of course). Well not I, nope, I bring you leftovers! But I am not doing it because I want to, I swear, it is the fault of the Creative Cooking Crew hi hi.

Our first theme for 2015 is: Repurposing Leftovers or How Many Meals Can You Get From One. I went with repurposing. I actually hosted the 25th (family) and the 31st (friends) but both were pot-lucks. Lots of leftovers but small quantities of things that did not necessarily mesh well. So I decided to layer up slices of desserts! I bring you A Cake Reconstruction!
