I have the most adorable story to tell you. I have a new boyfriend. He is 7. We met on the bus while I was playing a game on my phone on Tuesday. He asked me over for a playdate to play Connect 4 and Skylanders. And I had to ask him what Skylanders was. I was getting the extend description version but had to get off the bus at my stop. He proceeded to tell me approximately where he lived. I told him we would hopefully meet on the street soon and then go play. His mother and the other passengers around had smiles and were muffling giggles from how cute this whole thing was.

This was a particularly cool event. Bus stories are more about people bumping into you or stealing your seat. Bus stories can leave you Hot or Cold. Hot or/and Cold can be a fun topic to explore in the kitchen though. Even more a challenge: combine the 2 in one recipe, with one specific ingredient. That was exactly the challenge this month for the Creative Cooking Crew. My creation: a Raspberry Granita and its Warm Sauce.

It was tough to decide on THAT one ingredient but once the concept took shape in my mind it was very quick to come together. I have a bunch of frozen raspberries in my freezer that I got at a raspberry farm this summer. This recipe is for one serving but just multiply it for however many you need. I loved the contrast also between the textures of the granular iced berries and the smooth taste of the whole ones in the sauce. One piece of advice: present and eat quick as the sauce melts the granita pretty fast.
